Bark Box

I find it quite odd that humans will cut down a tree - a bird's natural home - turn it into planks of wood, then make it back into a bird's home.

To get around this very man-made problem I chose to use cork, it's still made from a tree, but highly renewable, with the material being harvested roughly every 8 years without having to cut the tree down.
Maybe this way we can make more homes for birds without having to cut down their original home in the first place.

The form and proportions were chosen to be good for birds, but also simple to produce industrially and locally, hopefully giving the best chance of these being made en-masse, and giving the best opportunity of making more homes for birds.
